If you thinking about purchasing a Green Bay Homes for Sale you should take into consideration doing extensive research of schools in the district you’ll be purchasing your Green Bay Home.  Ben and Kathy from New Homes Section blog do an excellent job of explaining the importance of schools and how it can help or hurt value.

It’s no surprise that schools that have high test rankings tend to have less days on market and sell for a higher price than areas with schools that are not.  In Green Bay we are thankful to have an excellent school system that provides a wide variety of options for students. 

Research Schools before Buying a Home | New Homes Section Blog

Prospective homebuyers don’t always think about schools when looking for a home- maybe they don’t have children or they’ve grown up and moved out. However, we think schools are ALWAYS an important consideration when looking for a home. Why? Because the success or failure of schools will, over time, affect whether property values rise or fall.

So, what research should you be doing as you are looking for a home to buy? If you don’t have children and don’t plan to have any while in this home, you likely can get a comfort level after doing only some basic research. We like GreatSchools and SchoolDigger: along with useful statistics, GreatSchools will rank the schools in the city you are researching on a scale of 1-10 and also posts reader reviews; SchoolDigger ranks on a 5-star system and also shows rankings by test scores. Homes for sale in a school district with unusually low rankings compared to surrounding school districts shouldn’t necessarily be eliminated but should give you pause and perhaps reason for further research. And remember to check the availability of nearby Private Schools- a quality private or charter school can raise property values as well.

Other “school” considerations are proximity to schools, traffic, trends and future school redistricting. Sometimes relative proximity to a school can be a plus; however, if a school is too close to a neighborhood you are considering, you may want to drive the area during drop-off and pick-up times to see if the neighborhood is overly congested. Also think about the noise factor, particularly if the school has a football stadium or practice fields (think band noise). Trends are another consideration, particularly if there is an alarming drop in test scores. Its also a good idea to check to see if the school has announced plans to either build or close schools in the area you are considering- many times you can find information about redistricting on the school district’s website. In our sales area, we’ve often seen a “pop” in values when a new school is built.

If you haven’t already figured out that I’m an extremely tech oriented Green Bay Real Estate Agent, let me tell you that my wife thinks I have a serious problem with my technology addiction.  Ever since I was a young buck I was in front of computers back all the way to the DOS era if people even remember what that was.  The greatest trait that I’ve learned over the years is that my ability to learn new things is the reason I’ve become successful at a young age.

Why this Green Bay Real Estate Agent loves his Droid X

Having had pretty much every single smartphone known to man kind I’ve had the opportunity to work with some really great devices and quite a few devices that just didn’t quite cut the butter.  Over a year and a half ago I made the switch from the coveted Blackberry to the Android operating system.  Switching from the non-touchscreen was a huge giant leap for my comfort level.  Even though I was a little taken back by the touchscreen technology I quickly realized how much power it came with.

So what’s important for me when purchasing a smartphone?  It’s really simple to please my power using tactics.  The phone needs to operate as quickly, snappy, and work without lag.  The operating system needs to make logical sense and needs to improve on the previous OS’s.  The device needs to sync flawlessy between my server and the phone.

Switching from the Motorola Droid to the Droid X

When I made the switch to the Motorola Droid from my Blackberry I quickly realized this was probably one of the best choicest for my productivity and Green Bay Real Estate Business.  The android operating system provided me with a level of web capability that I just didn’t get with my blackberry.  The Motorola Droid for the first time gave me the feeling that I had the whole internet in my pocket.  The device was snappy, was extremely easy to figure out, and increased my productivity level.   The applications that are available for FREE and that are constantly being updated is something that still amazes me.  I try to keep my phones extremely simple and just focus on calendar, contacts, emails, and basic web browsing.   With the Android Operating system I’ve now become a mini social media mogul.  It’s not uncommon for me to be tweeting, updating facebook, and linked in all from the power of my Droid.

So what’s the big difference between the Motorola Droid and the Droid X?  First off the first thing I noticed is that the speed was a huge improvement.  The Motorola Droid is by no means slow in way I didn’t even have to switch but I’m extremely glad I did.   As I mentioned before about having the whole web in my pocket.  The DROID X made it come alive to a whole new level.  The huge screen, amazing speed, new SWYPE technology, and amazing touchscreen keyboard make this home my newest favorite device.

Everything I was doing before with my Droid is now on hyper speed with the DROID X.  If Social Media is important to your success in your business this phone will give you every bell and whistle known to mankind.

Green Bay Real Estate Agent uses Verizon Hotspot feature on the DROID X

Having been an Aircard user for the past couple of years it’s extremely important for me to be connected to the internet all over Green Bay.  When listing and selling Green Bay Real Estate I’m constantly connected to the internet to provide my clients with the best service possible.  Paying the $60.00 per month has been worth it for me in the past but now with the Droid X Hotspot 3G feature I was delighted to find out that I could save $40.00 per month.  So your probably wondering how well it works I’m happy to tell you that I see little speed difference from the Droid X 3G hotspot feature then with my Verizon Aircard.  The one thing that I’ve noticed is that it sucks battery like no bodies business.  That’s to be expected with a device with this kind of power so I’m willing to overlook it.

If your due for an upgrade I would strongly recommend the Motorola Droid X as a new arsenal for your business.  If you already own a Droid X please comment below and share your thoughts as well.
